Public Safety:

Criminal activity has been increasing steadily over the previous years through out the valley. Local police departments are understaffed, stretched thin, thus consequently unable to respond timely always. Many non-priority calls have an average response time of 20 minutes to over an hour. When calling 911 or non-emergency phone numbers, callers frequently reach an answering message stating all other lines are busy. Law enforcement does a tremendous job with the resources they currently have, however, need more support by the state and community.

Plan: Need to recruit and hire more officers. All patrol officers should be given a body camera while on duty; then share footage with the public/ social media. Develop and grow partnerships between agencies and properties within communities. Increase number of paid days off, and mental health services for all emergency responders.
